[GB] Rail routes affected by Storm Dennis
16. February 2020, kl. 11:36
Flooding is affecting several rail routes around the West Midlands.
West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway are advising passengers to check before strating their journeys as rising water levels continue to block train lines.

Currently the following locations and lines are disrupted due to flooding:

Bromsgrove: no rail service to/from Hereford.
Hamstead: no rail service to/from Walsall and Rugeley.
Wellington: no rail service to/from Shrewsbury.
Wood End: no rail service Whitlocks End/Stratford-upon-Avon
Bus replacement services are in place but these are limited as roads are also affected by the stormy weather and flooding.
Any passenger who decides not to travel today will be able to use their ticket on Monday.

Some journeys will take longer than normal due to the impact of Storm Dennis. Passengers delayed 15 minutes or more are encouraged to claim delay repay compensation via the train companies' websites.

Passengers can visit www.wmr.uk/plan and www.lnr.uk/plan for the latest travel information.

Re: [GB] Passengers urged to check journeys this weekend as Storm Dennis arrives
16. February 2020, kl. 11:36
Passengers travelling on West Midlands Railway (WMR) and London Northwestern Railway (LNR) this weekend are being urged to check their journeys with Storm Dennis expected to bring high winds to the UK.

With some areas of land already saturated and tree branches weakened following last weekend's Storm Ciara, some disruption is possible across the WMR and LNR networks.

Last weekend Network Rail deployed dozens of engineers to remove fallen trees and other debris from the railway, repair damaged overhead wires and recover sections of flooded track.

Extra maintenance teams are again being readied across the West Midlands and along the West Coast Main Line for Storm Dennis, which is expected to last across Saturday and Sunday.

Passengers can visit www.wmr.uk/plan and www.lnr.uk/plan for the latest travel information.
